Privacy Policy
Scroll Court is published by Act1 Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: everything stays on your iPhone, and we never receive any of it.
What we collect
Nothing. Scroll Court has no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising. The app contains no third-party tracking or analytics code. We cannot see who uses the app or how.
What the app stores on your iPhone
To do its job, the app keeps the following on your device only:
- The apps you chose to be judged. Apple provides these to the app as anonymous tokens. The app cannot read which apps, categories or websites the tokens stand for, and neither can we.
- Session records. For each scrolling session: when it started, how many minutes it lasted, which verdicts were reached, and whether a sentence was served or appealed. These power the daily total on the main screen.
- Your settings. Verdict thresholds, tone pack, sound, any pause you have set and whether the sentence is enforced.
- A short activity log. The most recent 50 events, such as "verdict delivered", used for troubleshooting. It never leaves your device.
- Whether you own the Full Court unlock, so paid features stay available offline.
Screen Time access
Scroll Court asks for Screen Time access so that iOS can tell it when the apps you selected have been used for another minute. That is the only signal it receives.
- The app does not see what you do inside other apps, what you view, or what you type.
- The app does not see your overall Screen Time history or your use of apps you did not select.
- When a sentence is being served, iOS shows a Scroll Court screen over the selected apps. To write that screen, iOS gives it the name of the app being covered. The name is used for display only and is not stored.
You can withdraw Screen Time access at any time in Settings > Screen Time, or by deleting the app.
Notifications
Verdicts are local notifications created on your iPhone. No notification content is sent to or from a server.
Purchases
The Full Court unlock is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your name, payment details or Apple Account. The app only learns from Apple whether the unlock is owned. Apple's handling of your purchase is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Backups
If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, Scroll Court's on-device data may be included in that backup, as with most apps. Those backups are controlled by you and Apple, not by us.
Deleting your data
- Erase my history in the app's Settings removes your session records and the activity log.
- Deleting the app removes everything the app stored, including your settings and app selection.
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to delete or export on request.
Children
Scroll Court is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. It uses Screen Time access for the person using the device, not for parental monitoring of another person.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. If a change ever involved collecting data, the app would ask for your consent first.
